Pawsitive Beginnings is a California 501(c)(3) organization that rescues moms and puppies from high-kill shelters in the Los Angeles area. Shelters are no place to raise puppies—babies often get very sick, and moms become extremely stressed. We give these families a loving home to grow up in and find them furever homes when they are ready.
Since our inception, we’ve saved over 450 dogs from a life at the shelter, and sponsored countless life-saving surgeries, from open-heart procedures to emergency c-sections. We’ve created new treatment protocols for parasites and viruses, and we regularly take on complex medical cases that would otherwise be euthanized. Our goal is for no mothers to ever have to birth or nurse babies in a shelter or on the street, and for no sick or injured puppies to be euthanized due to lack of resources or knowledge. We are always looking for fosters for puppies, bottle babies, mamas, and medical cases—and we provide all supplies and full support.
